The Art painting has long been one of the most popular forms of fine arts. Art paintings are still as popular today as ever. Despite the look of fine art paintings have changed throughout the centuries, it will always remain one of the most popular art forms.

The definition of art and artists began changing. And it’s important to define what is art and understand it.

Art is no longer something technical, but a means of expression and meaning. To my mind, it’s not necessary to study art at the University level to become a real oil painting artist. It just should be a God given gift. Every artist distinguishes himself from variety of his colleagues by his own imagination, view of life and actually his proficiency. Thus, I suppose that real artist can’t learn how to paint, I mean it should be inborn.

Art is an object that has more meaning then its parts. For example a painter uses colors and canvas and creates beautiful oil paintings. A good artist is someone that gives something of himself on his work and by doing so he gives the viewer a new way to see things, a new meaning and makes him think. Speaking about good artist, Pablo Picasso said: “Artist is a person who paints something that can be sold. A good artist is a person who sells what he paints”. Anyone could be called an artist, but not anyone could actually BE one. It takes more than clicking the button or painting lines on a canvas.

Art is just another form of expression. It’s a way of communicating and sharing feelings. It’s an everyday thing like talking. Art and life, life and art are intertwined.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and everyone beholds something differently. Anything we find aesthetically pleasing to the eye is by definition art but not everyone has the same taste. Different people have different views.

I think that art is all around us. People just differently express what they see and feel. All we know that art is subjective and what is one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. In other words, art is where not everyone will ‘get it’. It’s really up to the individual.

Also, an art work is always subject of interpretation and is depended on the culture. History shows us that some art works that nobody wanted to buy some time ago now are sold in millions and are considered masterpieces. So the ultimate test of an art work is the time test, if it is still considered good art after a long time.

Art can be found anywhere in life. After you look at people’s creations long enough, you can change the way you understand reality and see new ways of looking at things, meanings.

Our lives are really our work of art, so in actual fact I think we are all creators of our own piece of art work, in one sense or another and it really doesn’t matter if someone else loves it or not because it is all a creation, all is subjective.
