The Hair Growth Cycle

Hair grows in cycles and not all the hair on your head will be growing at the same time. Generally speaking, around 90% of the hair on your head is actively growing or in the growth phase (Anagen) at any one time and an average growth rate amounts to more or less around a centimetre a month. The rest of your hair is in the Telogen stage or resting phase and it is normal during this phase for hair to fall out, sometimes as many as 100 hairs a day.

Massage

Try to massage the scalp on a daily basis. Massage helps to stimulate the circulation of blood to the hair follicle and removes dead skin and helps to unclog pores all of which allow the hair to grow more freely. A good time to do massage your scalp is when washing your hair.

1. To achieve faster hair growth you need a rich diet of proteins and minerals. Foods like milk, dairy products, almonds and nuts will go a long way to grow healthy locks

2. Eating plenty of green vegetables, along with fruits, spouts, honey, cereals and grains will help strengthen your body and hair.

3. Try to avoid cholesterol rich foods in your diet. Doing so will keep your skin and hair healthy. Cholesterol rich foods are usually found in animal meats. So if you are not a vegetarian try eating fish, or else try soybeans and raw vegetable greens.

Hair follicles rely on a number of nutrients to ensure healthy and vibrant growth and if those nutrients are missing then the result is dry, lank, reduced hair growth and possibly hair thinning and hair loss. Herbs can facilitate faster hair growth in basically two different ways.

The organic extracts of some of the herbal formulations act at the level of the androgenic receptors of the scalp. These extracts contain substances which directly compete with DHT with its action. They act as a natural androgenic blocker by inhibiting the active binding of DHT to the hair follicle receptors. When this binding is inhibited the amount of follicle damage is automatically reverted and follicles respond by affecting quick hair growth.

Some of the best supplements for faster hair growth are vitamin A which helps your scalp in producing many healthy sebum, Biotin which helps in the production of Keratin, an antioxidant vitamin C, vitamin E to enhance the scalp circulation, Inositol for healthier hair follicles, and vitamin B12 and B6 for efficient prevention of hair-loss and graying of hair; other essential nutrients include vitamin C, Para-Aminobenzoic acid, and Niacin.

Building on the last step, it may be necessary to purchase vitamins and supplements for faster hair growth. The easiest way to discover if you have a vitamin deficiency is to speak with your doctor. You can also examine your diet and the food you eat to see if they are lacking in any essential vitamins or minerals. If you discover that there is a deficiency, you can either start eating foods that are vitamin rich, or you can simply buy supplements.
