Many people suffer from thinning or bald patches in their eyebrows. Our eyebrows are one of the most distinctive facial features that we possess and they serve to frame our face and bring out our best and worst features. Unfortunately, being located right above our eyes, this is not an area where hairlessness is easy to disguise. Also unfortunately, hairs in this area are also the slowest to grow back on your entire body. In a healthy adult, the normal growth cycle for a plucked brow hair to grow back is 56 days. They could be different reasons for eyebrow hair loss. Over-plucking and rough or harsh plucking of eyebrows could lead to eyebrow hair loss. You will never look your best if your eyebrows are thinning or non-existent, despite your great looking makeup. If you use this guide you will be able to fill in your eyebrows for a perfect day or night time look. Whether your eyebrows thin naturally or because of illness or external trauma you can't be blamed for becoming alarmed at your changing appearance.

The fact is that there are many ways that you can try to get eyebrow hair growth, but it is unlikely that you will find a solution that will work fast or effectively. The problem is that for most people, the cause of eyebrow hair loss is that of an autoimmune disease. The condition is called Alopecia Areata and it can affect the eyebrow hair. The treatment depends on the cause and once diagnosed can be treated well. Hair transplants can be done on women in selected cases. Before going in for surgery, you should meet a dermatologist and find the cause for the hair loss and treat it. Surgery may be unnecessary. In the meantime a balanced diet and restful sleep will help to solve the problem to some extent.

Rogaine's active ingredient is a chempical called Minoxidil Topical Solution, which works to stimulate hair growth -- very slowly. Hair regrowth can take up to four months to begin, and even then the hair grows in colorless and downy at first. It thickens and darkens into the natural hair color with continued use, but the process is not fast or easy. (Notice that this partially answers two of the three questions above, because Rogaine stimulates hair growth, but it doesn't make it grow faster). Finally, most people think that Rogaine will regrow hair and then it will just stay put - balding problem solved! Unfortunately, this isn't the case. Rogaine does stimulate regrowth, but only as long as it's being used. When people stop using it, the regrown hair falls out within about 4 months. A commitment to having hair involves a pretty long commitment to buying and using Rogaine daily, and Rogaine explains that it should become a part of your daily routine.

Rogaine is an effective product, and people who feel strongly about restoring their hair should try it to see if it works for them. The odds are in their favor. But those expecting a quick fix followed by a long life full of flowing hair and no Rogaine application should probably reevaluate. (And please, don't use Rogaine on your cat. If it's dangerous for pregnant women, which it is, it is certainly dangerous for animals.)
