Expressing Art With Stained Glass

This artist doesn't follow the beat of a different drummer. She tries to create a new tune. The Pratt, Kansas artist has created her a unique form of art by using her skills of painting and stained glass. It is a fact that she couldn't find a name for it as it was so unique. I would like to stand out and not be like everyone else, is what she says. She chose to combine techniques from painting and stained glass because she could not decide between the two. She can see an image as soon as she looks at a piece of glass and hence it is easier for her to paint. Most people do not realize that this is the factor they should be looking for.

Her schedule is hectic. She not only teaches art classes at the Pratt Community College but also offers private lessons in stained glass, art work and painting. He is the guy who comes on television with this great big paintbrush. He is a real Dutch and the brush that he uses looks like one used for painting a house or something.

She developed her own method of teaching stained glass painting. She beautifully combined the easiest parts of all the six different methods. She has plans to exhibit her stained glass painting in Wichita. In the exhibition, she will be asking the participants to choose a piece of glass they find interesting and then she will paint on it.


She was careful of not letting all her trade secrets and only said that she uses some amount of oil paint on stained glass and other paints as a base. Both, she and her husband have a keen interest in arts. She says it is because they are Cherokee Indian.

Silversmiths usually use heavy tools to carry out their tasks. However, her husband uses regular kitchen tools to accomplish them. Many of the famous country musicians wear jewelry by him. She says that they both feel that their Indian heritage is the reason why they like artwork so much.
