Excellent Chinese Oil Painting Artist Zhang Wan-chuan Arts Review

Artist Zhang Wan-chuan Art Review:

Mr. Zhang Wan-chuan (1909-2003), who was born in Danshui town, Taipei city, had been lived in Keelung, and later removed back to Dadaocheng, Taipei.

In 1924, Zhang Wan-chuan entered in "Taiwan Free Institute of Western Paintings", and began to studies gypsum sketch and watercolor with Ishikawa Kinichiro.

In 1924, Zhang Wan-chuan acceded to "Taiwan Watercolor Institute", and become confrere with Artist Ni Jiianghuai, Chen Yingsheng, Lan Yinding, Li Zhepan, Li Shiqiao, Hong Ruilin and so on.

In 1929, Zhang Wan-chuan went to Japan with Hong Ruilin and Chen Dewang, and entered in "Tokyo Private Kawabata Paintings School" and "Locate Paintings Institute" to study western oil paintings.

After back to Taiwan, Zhang Wanchuan was acceded to "Taiyang Association of Fine Arts", and founded "Action Association of Fine Arts" with his artist friends, and his oil painting works had been selected to participate in the special art show held by the government.
