The mobile ecosystem is evolving rapidly. As fast-paced as technology is, it never seems to be quick enough. Many mobile advocates are hamstrung by tools that haven't kept pace with their marketing dreams may now be doing high fives.

Last month, Google announced Android, a new Linux-based operating system for mobile. Not to be left in the dust, Microsoft just inked a deal with Nokia that'll bring its Silverlight platform to mobile.

And here's even better high five-ing news... this quarter, Yahoo! will launch what it calls onePlace, a mobile bookmarking tool that will allow better control of information.

Enough? Not yet. AOL announced AOL's '07 purchase of Third Screen Media, a company that serves banner ads to mobile Web sites. Nokia bought the mobile agency Enpocket last year, as well.

So it's no wonder people are excited. But yet some are skeptical or frightened when something new is presented to them and since we know that the face of marketing is changing you may experience all or some of these emotions.

Mobile marketing is one of those changes that is growing in popularity both on and off the net.

Finding places to promote a product or service on the net is becoming harder to find. Many of the free options we've been using have gone by the wayside. Classified advertising is one example and there's more.

Social media while fun is slow, time consuming and produces less than desirable results.

SEO search engine optimization was a main stay but Google keeps changing the rules without notice...

Everyone is vying for the same slice of the pie

but that's only one part of the story -.the best part of this story is the one where ordinary people like you and me hit on something new, exciting and what seems to be the perfect solution

one that that not only picks up the lost income but increase revenue like never before.

The mobile marketing solution is what I'm referring to. While it seems to be a bit of a departure from the traditional Internet marketing that we're used to it's amazingly effective.. here's something to chew on:

1. There are over 4.6 Billion mobile devices in use worldwide.

2. Mobile web growth is happening 5 times as fast as the Internet.

3. One out of every seven minutes of media consumption takes place on mobile.

4. There are over 5,000 different mobile devices that can access the mobile web.

5. Over 80% of Americans carry a mobile phone, that's about 250 million Americans.

6. Mobile data traffic is expected to rise over 40-fold over the next five years.

7. People web browse via mobile devices more than they browse via computer.

8. Mobile web more popular than reading.

9. 80% mobile websites attract global audience.

10. Mobile marketing is predicted to reach $24B in five years.

11. 70% of print publishers step up mobile efforts.

Mobile marketing is still a lot like the Wild West. Then again, people said much the same thing about the Web itself when it was new. Growing pains comes with the territory, we know that throughout the internet and now we are facing the birth of another marketing system.
