Home theater today is different than it was in the past. Mostly new home theater devices including Blu-Ray player, Xbox console, internet HDTV are designed to be able to connect to your home computer network and to get access to the internet. They are designed with built-in Ethernet port for wired connection to the network. To eliminate the clutter of the wires, the wireless home theater is the solution.

With multiple home entertainment devices with Ethernet-port ready, you can connect them to your existing network and get connected to the internet. Connection to the internet can be done either by using wired or wireless connection. You can use the UTP network cable for wired connection to the network. But if you have difficulties in running the network cable, wireless connection is your alternative solution. You can consider deploying the WNHDB3004 wireless home theater.

What this Product Does

The WNHD3004 wireless home theater adapter is powered by the latest industrial 802.11a/n wireless technology. The wireless is designed to work with 5GHz frequency band – a clean frequency band with less interference than the 2.4GHz band delivering the high speed up to 300Mbps. This is an ideal solution for streaming High Definition (HD) video within the house.

You can install one WNHD3004 adapter and configure it as the wireless access point and connect it to the router. The other adapter must be configured as the Bridge and connected to the Ethernet-based devices (up to four devices).
Configuration is easy; you can change the operation mode by changing the position of the Switch. There are three operation modes available: Auto, Access Point, and Bridge modes. The factory default setting is the Auto mode in which the adapter senses and sets the mode automatically. In Auto mode, the adapter works in AP mode when connects to the router or gateway device. When the adapter connects to the Ethernet-based devices, it automatically changes the operation mode to Bridge mode.

To change the operation mode manually, you should understand how the operation modes work. If you connect the adapter to the router or gateway, change the mode by sliding the switch to the AP mode position. If you connect the adapter to the Ethernet- based devices, slide the switch to the Bridge mode position.

In bridge mode, you can connect up to four Ethernet-based devices (including Blu-Ray player, Game console, HDTV etc) to the Ethernet ports of your WNHD3004 wireless home theater. Unlike other wireless bridge devices which have one Ethernet port, the WNHD3004 adapter includes four 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports.

With your existing wired network with the router or gateway connects to either DSL or Cable modem, connect the WNHD3004 adapter to the router and configure it to work in the Access Point mode. The other adapter which connects to the home theater devices, change the operation mode to the Bridge mode. Your home theater devices can now connect to the network wirelessly, eliminating the clutter of the wires.

Unfortunately with the WNHD3004 adapter configured in Bridge mode, you cannot connect it to any wireless access point devices except to the WNHD3004 adapter configured in AP mode. It means that you cannot purchase a single device, must be in a pair to make them functional. This is different like normally traditional wireless bridge devices work. With traditional wireless bridge devices, you can connect the bridge to any exiting wireless networks. Now, with your exiting wireless network do you still need the WNHD3004 adapter kit?

If you’ve had a high performance wireless network in place, the network which is powered by the high performance wireless router such as Linksys E-3000 or WNDR37Av, deployment of the WNHD3004 adapters is redundant. With your existing high performance WLAN, deployment a Buffalo WLI-TX4-AG300N is appropriate. The WLI-TX4-AG300N adapter is a high performance wireless media bridge which is powered by the wireless N dual band technology. The adapter includes four Ethernet ports to let you connect up to four Ethernet-based devices to the network. But for superior Wi-Fi range and reliability, WNHD3004 with its Sheet3dhd Wireless is ideal solution for streaming HD and 3DHD 1080p Videos.
