There are so many products for curly hair on the market that it can be confusing and expensive to figure out which one is right for your hair. I have tried many different brands and finally found one that works great on my curly hair. I have medium to thick, shoulder length, curly hair. These reviews are based on my personal tests and the opinions of five other curly haired people ranging from fine to very thick hair. I incorporated their opinions/reviews into the article as well. The purpose of these Deva Curl product reviews is to help other curly heads tame their curls.

To start, there is the Deva Curl No Poo Cleanser. It does not include the sulfates that make other shampoos produce suds when lathered. This makes it a much gentler cleanser and easier on the hair. I noticed that my hair was way less frizzy after using it for one week. It has a lovely mint-rose scent that I really like. This cleanser is also great for color-treated hair since it is so gentle. Since I use hair products often, I like to use the Low Poo Cleanser about once a week. My scalp and roots get a little oily looking by then, but it's still worth it to use the No Poo cleanser regularly.

Deva Curl No Poo Cleanser Description (from their web site):

Color Preservation No-Fade, zero lather conditioning cleanser for blow fried, color-treated, natural and chemically processed hair. Enriched with Vitamin C and orange peel wax for dehydrated hair while providing maximum color hold and maintaining luster.

Summary:

* Gentle enough for daily use
* Great for color-treated or damaged hair
* Reduces frizz and tangles
* Pleasant mint-rose smell
* No suds when you lather - Some people say this is hard to get used to.
* Some people have mentioned that they still like to use a regular shampoo once a week.
* More expensive than average shampoos.

The Deva Curl Low Poo Cleanser is similar to the No Poo in texture, but it is a low-lather shampoo. Meaning, you will have some suds, but not nearly as many as a regular shampoo. Low-Poo leaves my hair soft and frizz-free. There is no need to use this shampoo in conjunction with the No Poo, but I prefer to use it about once a week. It makes my scalp feel 100% clean without stripping m hair. My hair is color treated so both of these products are non-stripping and gentle. Both shampoos make my hair shiny and bouncy.

After shampooing, I use Deva Curl One Conditioner. Normally, I never buy the same brand's shampoo and conditioner. I had never experienced a difference between using the same brand duo and not. With Deva Curl I do see a difference. I was very surprised! It seems like the two were actually formulated to compliment one another which is wonderful. Even if I skip a day of shampooing my hair, I still use the conditioner. Especially since this one makes my hair look so healthy and shiny.

Summary:

* Thick and creamy texture
* Can use daily without getting build-up
* Lemon scented
* More expensive than average conditioners
* Can also be used as a leave-in conditioner
* Some people with thick hair noted that they had to use more than the recommended amount each time.

Deva Curl Heaven In Hair
This is a deep moisturizer that is great for damaged or extra dry curly hair. One of the testers recently fried their hair by accident during a D.I.Y. hair dying and used Heaven In Hair every day for a week and noticed a huge difference. Her hair wasn't exactly like it was originally, but it was much softer and shinier. I like to use this product approximately every two weeks or so. It seems to reduce split ends.

I and my fellow testers have been very happy with these products. They have improved the look and health of our hair overall and I highly recommend them to anyone else who has curly hair.
