There are hundreds of eye creams and serums available online, as well as stores which make claims to improve the signs of aging. At one point, after a certain age, the miracle products are simply not going to work anymore. There are numerous reasons we eye bags develop, and progressively get worse over time. The main culprit is simply gravity. Over time, our skin loses its elasticity and literally begins to fall downward. To make matters worse, allergies, lack of sleep and stress can exacerbate this annoying problem. It needs to be mentioned that extreme weight loss can cause the facial skin to sag. Eye hollows make the face look tired and older. After years of being depressed over the way I looked, I turned to dermal fillers to get rid of the deep eye bags on my face and achieved very good results.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Applied by injection, dermal fillers are used as a non-surgical method for face-lifts. Although fillers can be comprised of various agents, their main function is to restore volume to the face, and bring about a more youthful appearance. Popular dermal fillers are as follows: Radiesse, Juvederm, Restylane, and Surgiderm which is not yet available in the United States. With the exception of Sculptra, these fillers are comprised from different types of hyaluronic acids. The chemicals are not harmful to the body and have very few complications. It’s also imperative that if you do choose to have fillers, the procedure is administered by an experienced physician, or medical professional.

Eye Hollow Correction with Fillers
The skin around the eye area is extremely thin, sensitive and soft. Usually performed at a medical spa, the medical doctor on staff will evaluate your eye hollows. He or she may suggest a specific filler to literally plump up sagging skin underneath your eyes. The type of filler you choose can effect how many visits you will need, as well as overall price. In most cases, a very thin, fine needle is used to inject the filler around the eye areas. The injections are never placed directly underneath the eyeball. Doing so would be dangerous and cause severe damage to the optic nerves. Instead, the filler is placed right below the skin, and delicately smoothed out in such a way that it covers the unwanted baggy area.

Based upon my own experience, you can expect swelling, discoloration, minor bruising and discomfort for at least a week after treatment. Using a little bit of Arnica gel, with some ibuprofen comes in handy.
Dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6 months and 2 years, based on which product you choose, and your body’s metabolism. If you’re body burns up calories quickly, you can probably expect the filler to be metabolized quicker than someone else. I don’t want to suggest which dermal filler you should use to fill eye hollows, because all of the products on the cosmetic market have shown good results.

I would suggest that no matter which filler you choose, make sure that it is approved by the FDA, and that it is being administered by an experienced professional. Dermal fillers to fix sagging eyes can reverse the signs of aging and improve your self-confidence.
