Dell Inspiron 15 Review

Dell computers are some of the most popular in the business. Many of their customers are loyal to their brand, and they buy new Dell products to replace their old one. Dell Inspiron 1915 has some of the most customizable features offered by the company. However, it is advertised pretty cheap, and this may be somewhat misleading to people who are not interested in upgrading.

The starting price of $ 379.99, the Inspiron 1915 is considered a mid-range notebook. However, users can upgrade so much that it can be an expensive laptop quickly. This is something to look because you can end up spending double or even more before you know it.

In addition to the standard black, Dell Inspiron 1915 comes with six different colors. This is great for someone who wants a notebook that stands out. Unfortunately, if you cherry red or laptop to Purple Passion, will cost an additional $ 40. This seems a bit expensive for something that only affects the appearance of a computer.

For the most part, the Inspiron 1915 is a solid choice for a mid-range laptop. It starts with 2 GB of memory, and you can go all the way up to 8 GB. 2 GB is enough for most people, and Dell memory is excellent. Moreover, many of the standard functions for the needs of most users: 250 GB hard drive, 8x CD / DVD burner, and a basic Wi-Fi card. All these parts are fine.

If you look at the basic video card and processor choices, that's when you realize some of its problems. The standard graphics card is an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 HD. On the other hand, you can upgrade to an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330. Anyone who wants a decent video card is nearly an upgrade. Dell should just have used the ATI card by default, instead of almost forcing an upgrade.

The basic settings comes with an Intel Celeron 900 processor at 2.20 GHz. It also comes with two other options of these dual-core Celeron processor. The problem is that you can only buy one copy of 64-bit Windows 7. If you are not a dual core processor, there is no point in buying a 64-bit operating system. You'd be better off with a 32-bit. Instead of letting you save a few bucks on an OS that they almost force you to upgrade your processor. These two disadvantages are a bit of a put off.

All that said, the Dell Inspiron 1915 is still a great mid-range laptop. The fundamental problems with the video card and processor to go to show that Dell was trying to get the price seem low for advertising. A laptop is touted as sure of $ 379.99 seems cheap, but most people will have almost an extra $ 200 to $ 300 to spend. If the price does not matter that much, and you enjoy the upgrades, this is definitely for you. However, if you attracted that low price tag, then you may want to reconsider.
