Decoupage and creating a crackle glaze effect

Decoupage Method for CRAQUELURE Finish. - A two-part crackle glaze that imitates old cracked varnish.. Rubbing wax over the finished glaze produces an attractive old-varnish look.

You can clean your brushes easily with warm water.
YOU WILL NEED
• A surface to decorate.
• Fine sandpaper
• Emulsion paint
• Two part Cracked Glaze Varnish
• Brushes for painting
• Cotton cloth
• Gift Wrap Paper
• Sticking paste
• White glue
• Scissors or scalpel
• Oil Paint

Getting Started
Clean the surface with garnet paper and apply a water based paint. Choose your paper cut outs Glue your decoupage cut outs on to the item.
Paint on the base coat of the crackle glaze. When dry apply another coat of varnish.

Apply final coat of ageing glaze with a bristle brush Wait until the varnish is totally dry. Using a soft cloth rub brown furniture wax into the cracked areas. Using a soft clear wax and a cloth, polish the surface.

Cover the inside, non decorated parts of your item with paint. Use a water based varnish to seal in the paint.

Burnish with a natural furniture wax. Using a soft duster, polish the surface to a delicate sheen.
Add a bit of gold wax to any edges for an extra shine.
