Most of us start out on dancing as a summer holidays activity or just because our friends are joining the classes and you have nothing better to do. But dance is an activity that soon turns into the biggest passion of our lives. The enthusiasm that dance infuses is matched by nothing else. But to fully live our passion we need the right gear. Dance dresses and dance shoes play a vital role in your learning of the art. Dance shoes can make or mar your dance performance.

It is necessary to choose the right dance shoes. There are many factors to be considered before choosing the dance shoes. First the material you use for your dance shoes should be durable so as to last for a long time, as you definitely don’t want to spend a fortune time and again on dance shoes.

Also the shoes you choose should be comfortable and should be able to hold the foot in a comfortable position. The material should be durable but soft at the same time and should not bite the toes. Until and unless you don’t have comfortable dance shoes you will never be able to perform well or even enjoy your dance and give the attention it deserves.

Considering these factors you can move on to selecting your dance shoes on the basis of the type of dance you want to learn or perform. Different dances have different requirements hence the shoes required would also be different for each of them. Tap for example would require shoes that create the right sound effects as the tap sound is more important to a tap dance than the music. In ballet, special shoes called Pointe is used which help the ballerina to twist and turn the foot in the right direction without any difficulty. Dances like jazz and ball room dance also call for special shoes. all in all you need to take care of your dance shoes to get that perfect move!!!
