If you have experience coupon shopping already, you can truly admit that it is quite fun. Now you would not have shopping any other way. Shopping without coupons seems different somehow. You may have learned a few personal tricks and techniques of your own during the process. There are a whole lot of opportunities and possibilites when shopping with coupons. Here are a few more coupon saving secrets that you can add to your coupon skill book.

* Organize and keep track of your coupons. If you don't keep your coupons organized, you might not just be able to find the right one you are looking for when the time comes for it. To make things easier for you the next time and each time after that, experts advise that you use a system to sort out your coupons. You can do this by categorizing them into different aspects like expiration dates, brands, stores, or whatever way you want to organize them. This will save you time and give you more coupon shopping convenience. And if you have some free time on your hands, you can also make a list of all the coupons that you have, complete with the expiration dates and other important details that you should know. Some stores may offer coupons for the same products but at different prices or you may get coupons from the same store for the same product but at different prices for different periods. By tracking them, you will be able to note the price variances and use the coupons that offer the best deal.

* Check the per unit price. Coupons are usually offered for product packages. Make out how much you are saving per coupon by calculating the value of the product per item. You may be surprised to discover that in some cases, you can get more savings by getting the smaller package. This happens in an instance where the coupon offers the same dollar discount on whether you purchase the bigger or the smaller package. For example, take fove bars of soap for $5 and 10 bars at $10 with a coupon having $1 off. With the 5 bars you get a price of $.80 each, with 10 you get $.90 per bar. There is a difference of ten cents depending on what package you're going to take. It might appear to be quite trivial. But nevertheless, if you multiply this figure, you would still come up with considerable savings. That measly ten cents might just turn out to be a hundred dollars or more.

* Learn the art of barter and trade. The coupons you get today may or may not have use for you today or anytime. Take for instance that you have a coupon for dog food but yet you don't have a dog, what use could you have for this coupon, right? It would prove to be quite useless as well unless you're planning on getting a dog sometime soon. If you don't, this would only take up space and add to more clutter in your collection of coupons. So what do you do with your extra coupons? You trade them. Trade those coupons that you have no use for with someone who might want them; and at the same time, you'd also be getting something that you need in exchange. It's best expressed in the old saying that "one man's garbage is another man's treasure".
