Whether you are using Playstation, Xbox, or Nintendo Wii, there are a lot of game copier programs that promises to copy your original games and preserve its good working condition. This article will be discussing whether using these programs is legal or not.

Game copier software is a very powerful tool that will allow us to easily create backups for our games. CDs are very vulnerable to damages and with their expensive price tags and you cannot simply purchase another game once your original copy is broken. But, is it legal to use these programs? Will companies chase you for piracy?

In most countries, copying games is legal as long as you are the owner of the original copy. You can create as many copies as you want as long as you keep the original copy safe, and will never give away the duplicates of the games. All you have to do is to create copies of your original copy, keep it in a safe place, and use the duplicates to play games.

If you are renting games, you are not allowed to copy the original game and return it to the company because you are not the rightful owner of the original game, and can be considered as piracy. If you have the original copy and gave away your duplicates to family members or your friends, you are also guilty of piracy. So, if you want to be safe, you need to use it personally.

Game copiers are very powerful tools that allow us to save a lot of money. As the saying goes “Great power comes with great responsibility” and you are responsible of keeping your original game copy and avoid giving out duplicates in any form. Piracy is against the law, but if you are going to use a duplicated copy for your personal use, you are not breaking any rule.
