Colourful expressions abound from the Alcatel 708

The Alcatel 708 is a recently released unit from Alcatel. Also known as the One Touch Mini this handset has proved popular due to its simplicity of use and colourful casing. The handset measures 96 mm x 52 mm wide whilst being 14 mm thick. The casing is enveloped by a colourful band which surrounds it. It is full of functionality, all of which is a useful.

The handset comes with vibration and ring alert types, with the added benefit of being able to download polyphonic and MP3 ringtones. A 2.4 inch TFT touch screen is the main element of this handset and includes a variety of embedded images and animations as well as home screen widgets. Its ability to display 256,000 colours at a pixel screen size of 240 x 320 pixels ensures that images are shown with excellent clarity and colour representation. An accelerometer is provided which optimises imagery dependent on the aspect of the image and the orientation of handset.

GPRS, Blue tooth and miniUSB are provided as means of connectivity. This allows the handset to be connected to a variety of devices, usually for the means of sharing files or synchronising with a PC for download options.

An FM radio with RDS and a MP3/MP4 player are also provided with this handset. This provides suitably sufficient means of entertainment, whether that is listening to downloaded music or national and local radio station broadcasts. An organiser, calendar and voice memo facility are also provided.
