Chronices Of Narnia Between Movies and Books

Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a magical world so close to our own? One where the animals talked and made you tea, where Santa Clause was your close friend, and where you were a King or Queen of your own district?

This is the world that the Pevensie children escape to, the world of Narnia.

The Chronicles of Narnia cover seven simple stories told over a great time period. Each book invites the reader to the realm of Narnia through a narrator who's telling them the story. As an alternative for first person narration, where the reader experiences the adventure of the heroes, C S Lewis makes use of third person, so one could almost believes that these are true tales and not just tales. This also makes them a great bedtime story. Psychiatrists and tutors alike all agree that a parent reading to their baby may drastically boost the child's capability to read over time. If a kid is raised in a world where stories hold amazing worlds of wonder, they're more likely to keep reading as time passes.

The Chronicles of Narnia begins with The Magician's Nephew, and here we are introduced to Narnia through the Digory and Polly. The Pevensie children; Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, are the lead characters in the next book, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. In this book the children find the wardrobe by accident after they are forced to stay with a now grown up Digory during World War Two. The third book, The Horse and His Boy, focuses on two children during the Pevensie reign.

We are introduced to Prince Caspian in the forth book that is his namesake. The Pevensie's also appear which leads to the eldest two having to make some hard life choices. Peter and Susan are not in the fifth book, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. By this point they have learnt all they can out of Narnia, and it is time for them to put their lessons to practical use in 'the real world'. Edmund and Lucy venture to Narnia, this time with their annoying cousin Eustace. However, no one ever comes to Narnia by accident, and by the end of the tale Eustace learns that there is more to life than facts that are read in a book.

Eustace himself leads the charge in the sixth book, The Silver Chair. He and his friend Jill Pole learn that death is not necessarily always the end of an adventure in Narnia, as they are called forth to help find Prince Caspian's son.

In the last book, The Last Battle, most major characters return for a great battle for Narnia.

Several movies have already been made from the books in the series, especially the first one, however the books are still popular. Regardless of how many adaptations are made, film, TV or theatrical plays, people still flock to read the original copies, the best. Millions of copies have been distributed in hundreds of languages around the world.
