My twelve year old daughter has been pestering me for a new digital camera, these last few weeks. One of her friends, Cloe, has this point and shoot camera, made by Canon, which is easy to use. You just point the camera at your subject and take your photograph. It is that easy.

Cloe takes it everywhere with her. She spent the summer holidays with her grandmother, who has not used a digital camera before. After much persuasion by her grand daughter, she finally gave in and agreed to take some photographs of Cloe, using the Canon PowerShot A1100 IS Digital Camera - Silver (12.1 MP, 4x Optical Zoom) 2.5" LCD
.

To her surprise, she found it really easy to use. Just point and click, and you have a good quality photograph, achieved with the minimum of fuss. Some people just want to be able to pick up a camera and use it, with the expectation that it will produce a high quality photograph, and without having to pore over an instruction manual wondering what to do next to take the photograph they want.

Cloe's grandmother had no difficulty using this camera, and was so taken with it that she now wants one of her own. Not that she intends to use it all the time or anything like that, rather she just to wants to own one herself so she won't need to borrow Cloe's next time she visits her.

There is a viewfinder to this camera, which comes in really handy when the sunlight is bright. The Canon camera has a bright 2.5 inch LCD which allows for easy and crisp viewing of images and video. We liked the Face Detection self-timer feature which waits for an extra face to appear in the frame before it takes a self portrait. The navigation of the cameras menus is straightforward and uncomplicated.
