BT is one of the well established telecommunication provider in UK which has millions of customers which enjoy using its broadband service. In order to stay on par and at times ahead of its rival ISPs, BT constantly upgrading its services and products.

The BT Broadband Home Hub is one of the latest and better products which provide better and reliable internet connectivity to customers. It is in fact a wireless router which in popular terms is called a Hub and is provided at no extra cost to its customers. It is based on Wi-Fi 802 and provides connectivity through the ADSL connection. The hub supports VoIP Internet calls via BT's Broadband Talk service and is also compatible with DECT handsets which can be considered as an upgrade in service. It also allows customer to download on demand video programmes. With continuous upgrades to the product, better BT Hubs are being offered to the customers.

Small, compact and sleek in size, the hub’s dimensions are 9 x 17.5 x 18cms and hence occupies relatively less space. The connection is done through “N” wireless technology and 130Mb/s is the data range. As security measure, the WPA is offered as a standard along with a built in firewall. The Home Hub is capable of switching it off automatically when it lies unused for quite some time.


A closer look and study of the wireless router shows that it has 4 different types of sockets viz. a phone socket, a broadband DSL socket, 4x Ethernet socket and USB master socket. The phone socket enables you to connect a handset with it and make cheap calls through BT Broadband Talk. The 4 ethernet sockets can be used for connecting PCs, games and consoles. Also provided is the USB Master Socket, through which you can connect other USBs to the hub as per your requirement and use.

Getting connected with BT Internet is an easy task which you can do it on your own or seek and assistance of the BT engineer. You could also call up the help desk which operates 8am to 11pm 365 days a year or seek an engineer’s visit. Do make a note that both these services are chargeable and the engineers are available from throughout the week from Monday to Friday

Customers who have joined BT Total Broadband Option 1, BT Total Broadband Option 2 and BT Total Broadband Option 3 are provided with the Home Hub, through which they can enjoy the internet and enjoy browsing and downloading as per the prescribed usage limits. The BT Home Hub performs satisfactorily considering the growing customer base. With better firmware and support, BT Home hub can be expected to deliver better internet connectivity to its broadband customers.
