If the most influential man in the world- the President of the United States, Mr. Barack Obama himself is influenced by the wonderful BlackBerry, who is the humble me to sing virtues of it to get your attention. As it should be, BlackBerry has already won hearts of millions of people world wide and needs no introduction to it. With the launch of its new model, Blackberry Storm 9500, it has once again successfully held the attention of all the mobile phone freaks of the world.

If you have still not checked out the wonders that this new touch phone has to offer, here is a sneak peak.

Design and Form
Though the phone itself is a sophisticated, high end device, you could be fooled by the sturdy and durable looking design. The Storm 9500 sports a 3.5inch SurePress touch screen display which has an excellent resolution of 360x480 pixels giving great display even in broad sun light. The display also has an accelerometer that aides in screen rotation and does not pose a problem in that.

It is quite a slim built phone with volume keys, camera keys and earphone sockets on one side. The other side has a micro USB port and a customized key mostly for voice commands. The Storm has its microSD slot under the back panel and comes with a 1GB card and can be upgraded up to no less than 16GB.

Under the display screen are the call accept and end keys with the menu and escape keys in between them. This placement is much like all the other BlackBerry phones and the call take key can be used to access the dial pad.

Other Features
The Storm following the BlackBerry tradition is equipped with latest technology and is 3G ready though since there is no secondary camera, video calling might not be possible. The single camera on board is a 3.2MP AF camera with a single LED flash. The camera is located at the back side and considering its resolution, gives quite good results.

Blackberry Storm 9500 runs on a BlackBerry Operating System with a 624MHz CPU. Now this makes the phone decently quick and fast on most of the operations. A touch screen is the USP of the phone however the note worthy thing is that even on the touch screen just a feather touch would not help. You would actually need to press the keys on the screen just like the real keys for functioning. At the same time, the screen does provide the single swipe navigation option and is quite cool.

If you hold the phone horizontally, the menu will display three kinds of keypads to choose from- QWERTY, alpha numeric and sure type. This is another cool feature with the screen orientation changing to landscape mode every time you turn it to left or right. The phone has been launched in competition to the iPhone and can be a good substitute, however you will miss features like WIFI and Maps for navigation on board.

All in all it is a good option if you are a BlackBerry fan and want the latest technology in it. If you are not however, then there is plenty available in competition which you might want to check before investing in a high priced phone!
