Beatrix Potter is an internationally well-known writer who is close to the people of this world through many of her great works. Though she was not part of the Romantic era when many writers and poets existed, she could project the same lines of thoughts in her books. The approach towards the plot structure and the literary devices used point towards the perpetual respect and love towards nature and all that it has to offer.

Books of Beatrix Potter attracted children the most who found her writings interesting enough to love the nature. Some literary scholars are of the belief that children were most attracted to her works because their innocent, nubile minds recreated the world intended by the author in nearly the exact manner she imagined it to be.

The books titled The tale of Peter Rabbit (1901), The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin (1903), The Tale of Benjamin Bunny (1904), The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes (1911) are some of the most exciting works among many of the her writings. Being born in a wealthy family was both a curse and a boon for her. She had spent a large part of her childhood without any friends so the lack of human companionship was replaced by a huge assortment of pets. She neither had friends nor parents around her and therefore she used to spend all her time with the nature where she could make various loving pets. On the other hand, being from the rich family, she had the opportunity to spend some time in the wild Scottish countryside. B.Potter was known to sketch a variety of animals she observed in the countryside as well as some of her pets.


Beatrix Potter could also create sketches of many animals and her companion pets. People found the nature's woodland to be good and refreshing after reading Beatrix Potter books. This made her famous with the parents and also made her standout among her contemporaries. She was also able to develop her fame among many great writers of her time by her writings and achievements.

The enormity of success achieved by her was such that her 1st book 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit'. Interestingly, the release of her first book The Tale of Peter Rabbit with Frederick Warne & Co publication was a great success and a remarkable achievement with 28,000 copies of that book in total.
