Q: What are some of the major western art sales last year?
A: We saw a lot of the early work of the original members of the Cowboy Artists of America. This is a group that began in the 1960s. They have been popular, but it has been difficult to find early works by these guys. Joe Beeler [1931-2006], John Hampton [1918-1999], Melvin Warren [1920-1995], James Boren [1921-1990]. Undoubtedly, the most successful West Texas artist is a guy named Gerald Harvey Jones [b.1933], who goes by G. Harvey. He is very popular.

They are not doing Westerns. "And you know, two or three years later, something more popular, if the Rocky Mountain West and Southwest. This is a topic that I think people are going to be painting 100 years.
