Just about every office in the country has one, no matter how big or small the business. You might think it's a computer or fax machine, but it's not. It's a paper shredder. Paper shredders have started appearing in more and more offices, thanks to the prevalence of such white-collar crime as identity theft, and the appearance of federal privacy laws. The age of the Internet has caused more and more confidential information to be out in the open on photocopies and computer printouts, and one of the best way to control who sees this information is by using a paper shredder. Dahle manufactures some of the best paper shredders available and they have a great selection of shredders for any office. This article will look at their lineup of office shredders so you can see if one would be good for your workplace.

There are two entry-level machines in this lineup, the 20506 and 20514, which both have 1/2-HP motors. The 20506 can shred up to 30 sheets of paper at once and it has a Level Two security rating, while the 20514 has a Level Three rating and can shred 15 sheets. Both of these machines operate quietly and let you know when you need to dispose of the shredder waste. They also have automatic reverse functions that can prevent the machine from getting jammed if too much paper is fed into the machine.

Dahle has four other office paper shredders and they're all more advanced than the 20506 and 20514 machines. These advanced shredders have security ratings that range from Level Two (the 20606EC) to Level Five (the 20630EC), so you have a lot of choices when it comes to the security of your documents. Shredding capacity also varies a great deal. The 20630EC can only shred nine sheets at a time, but it makes up for it with its very high security rating. (The 20606EC can shred an astonishing 38 sheets.) Meanwhile, the 20614EC has a Level Three rating, but it can shred 25 sheets, so this unit is perfect if you need a machine with a high shredding capacity and a moderate security rating.

Then there's the 20612EC, which provides Level Four security and a shredding capacity of 17 sheets. All of these machines come with automatic features, including the ability to detect when a document is in the feed opening for shredding. You can also use automatic oilers with these shredders so you won't have to oil the machine yourself. And all of Dahle's office-sized shredders - including the 20506 and 20514 - can hold up to 16 gallons of waste. All of these units have the same dimensions (30.5" x 16.75" x 15.25") as well and while they are too large to be placed under an employee's desk, they would look great in a common area, such as a copy room.

Dahle paper shredders are great machines and they make it easy to protect your company's information. By investing in a Dahle paper shredder, it's not only easy to shred your documents; it's easy to have peace of mind, as well.
