American Idol Season 10 Episode 23 : Last week the judges saved Casey Abrams from being eliminated and that makes your Top 11 remained to be a Top 11. How about if you take this one for size… DOUBLE ELIMINATION! Yup, you’ve read that right. Double elimination is happening tonight. Some folks who doesn’t like Casey Abrams at first are complaining why the judges used ‘the save’ trick so early in the competition but I now think that they’ve used it to at least a worthy contestant. It happens that I didn’t notice these other remaining contestants lurking behind the shadows. So tonight, two will go home and that makes the number to be properly running: TOP 9 remaining American Idol hopefuls will be competing next week!
Last night, according to my novice opinion about singing, I can tell myself who’s going to take the cut for tonight. If we’re talking about the results in this night’s episode then I think that America finally got another thing right. 55 million votes can’t go wrong but holy hell, your pretty boy Stefano Langone is still up there standing and his in the Top 9 already. He’s one of the weakest last night but the guy’s good looking and maybe the teenage girls like to keep him in the show. Two of the ladies were unfortunately eliminated tonight, ‘though it’s kindda sad but that’s the drill around here.
There’s a new way of elimination too. The cheesy singing done by a group is now being reduced. First it came out as a duet between Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina then followed by Jacob Lusk and Naima Adedapo. The a trio came in Pia Toscano, Haley Reinhart, and Thia Megia. Lastly, a group of four, the guys: Casey Abrams, Paul McDonald, James Durbin, and Stefano Langone.
Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina started the show with a Country vibe. I for one never likes Country music so much (or not at all) but I say that’s one good duet. To my surprise, after the singing, Seacrest came into the picture and announced that the both of them were safe. Yeah, that’s the way how the wheel turns tonight: sing first then the results will be announced right in that very moment.
Next up is a duet between Jacob Lusk and Naima Adedapo. I don’t know about this but that duet is just bad, duh! Are you kidding me?! Jacob is again singing his vibrato style and Naima tried faking an accent, and this so-called “pitchy” or “pitch problems” were just scattering all over the place. Why don’t you guys let me sing with you and let’s have some helluva karaoke fun! The results were announced and Naima Adedapo ends up in the bottom three. Jacob Lusk… oh, this guy will go soar higher maybe in the Top 5 before he’ll get the cut! Why is that happening is beyond my imagination!
Then Pia Toscano, Haley Reinhart, and Thia Megia took the stage singing Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” and boy, that’s the thing right there! These three girls were really giving pure entertainment, except for Thia who remained lifeless no matter what, lol! Toscano’s performance reminds me again of ‘Grenade’ where she dominates the rest of the girls, it happened again tonight. It’s sad how the lifeless Thia simply look like a back up singer of Pia and Haley. Haley Reinhart, like what I’ve said in the previous post, is really underrated! She’s kicking and growling her way tonight and maybe people starts noticing that. Thia Megia on the other hand, ends up in the bottom three along with Naima Adedapo.
Then a group of four finally taking the stage, Casey Abrams, Paul McDonald, James Durbin, and Stefano Langone. Nah, these guys tried to coordinate well with each other but the said performance is a mess! It’s like a watered down Jacob Lusk/Naima Adedapo version, haha! James, once again, performs really well. Wow, this guy always came out great in whatever he do and I’m a fan already! It is no secret that Casey likes to shout, and teaming him with a soft-spoken Stefano will really not work! However, Paul McDonald is the only one ending up in the bottom three. It could be Stefano, but do you know…
