People who have their windows and doors attached with stained glass work of arts are normally recognized as people who have a good taste in art, color and history.




One of the most legendary art forms that have admired people for ages have been stained glass which is colored glass in the form of matter or masterpieces shaped from that matter. It is well known that these amazing work of art where most carried out in historical places like churches and other similar structures. Till today people can witness some mind blowing designs that have been crafted by professional artisans in the field of glass painting on all the windows, doors and other similar locations to add beauty and color to the structures. These days this type of art work has taken new levels where it has been found that artists include three dimensional figurine and arrangements instead of the old flat panes that were most used for windows.



Stained glass is similar to other materials which have been tinted by combining metallic salts when being produced. In addition a similar effect of stain glass can be brought about by painting colors on glass and fusing them in an oven. These features of art are created by joining pieces of glass that have been shaped into patterns or pictures, that are held together by lead strips and supported with firm frames. This process is definitely a work of art that requires a skilled craftsperson to visualize the right process in putting together a great piece. The completed product must be able to fit in the desired location properly being able to withstand heat, rain and wind and also be able to sustain its weight.



Today with this trend of exquisiteness to structures many architects and interior designers have incorporated stained glass into their designs to make the structures more attractive. The main purpose for using this material in structures was to keep away sunlight and to have a colorful design displayed around the room when sun hit the glass. It also was intended for people within the room not to have a view of the outside. Now day’s people are taking the opportunity in placing these gorgeous pieces on doors, windows and any other similar location that would brighten up their premises.
