Understanding your Parent Rights

We are the main keepers of our children, our most valuable and important part of life. We have the right to a society that young people appreciate and welcome your request for care and commitment on the part of adults.

We have the right to raise our children in decent housing, good food, medical care, quality day care, good education, means of safe and healthy environment and sufficient time for sharing in a relaxed family. We have the right to a company involved in eliminating racism, sexism and all forms of oppression that affect us, divide us and limit us.

We have the right to respect and support our working mothers and fathers. This means:

* We have the right to a preparation for the work they do.

* We have the right to financial support to raise our children during the first years of their lives. We are entitled to a salary for the work of parenting.

* We have the right to effective collaboration and systems support for our work.

* We have the right to protect us on the job and the strain that arise when we work instead of mothers and fathers.

* We have the right to participate fully in decisions and work of schools, kindergartens, hospitals, ministries of culture and recreation, the judiciary and any institution that affects the lives of young people.

Respect and support for our work can guarantee a better future for our children, young people and society. Parents should be treated as equal partners and work with those responsible for the education of their children. Some parents need to be supported to participate on equal terms, while others should have counselors. Parents have the right to access any information from educational institutions to their children. The views of parents should be respected and valued in determining their children's education and should be acted upon that view. Parents should be given full information about their rights and how to intervene in decisions concerning the future of their children.

Parent rights in today's society are ever changing. We are losing many of our rights especially our parent rights. We have the right to raise our kids anyway we like as long as its not criminal. For more information regarding parent rights visit Parent Rights
