Sony Ericsson call it the nature's shadow, enthusiasts call it the stylish slider and music lovers call it the smart juke box, lets dwell into reality and see what the Sony Ericsson S500i actually is.

Sony Ericsson S500i - The Looks
Beautiful naturally! The slim slider has a sophisticated glossy finish. The nature inspired wall paper, creative artwork and themes custom made for the S500i are humble yet very attractive. Sony did take the ‘nature inspired' part bit too seriously; the phone changes the background and themes according to the time of the day and even according to the season. The Sony Ericsson S500i is available in two color variants Mysterious green that has a black body and Spring yellow that has a chrome yellow body. Both the color variants stand out in the crowd appealing to the sensibilities of those who like things that are different. Overall the looks of the phone are pleasingly appealing.

Sony Ericsson S500i - Key Features
Sony have designed the phone for the medium priced segment so the phone does not really have all the jazzy features to make you the techno cool dude around, but the S500i is well equipped with the essential features of a decent phone in the market. The highlighting feature though is the outstanding display clarity of the S500i. The bright active matrix display allows you to use your phone comfortably even outdoors and the high resolution does magic to the artwork. The 2 mega pixel camera lacks auto focus and flash, something that is surprising coming from a company that has phones like the Cyber shot under its banner. The camera is capable of video recording as well, but again a very average feature.

Trust Sony for music. Though this is not a dedicated music phone, the music features are pretty cool. The good quality music player supports Bluetooth head sets for added fun. The integrated memory (12 MB) can be complimented with a micro SD card to expand the storage up to 1 GB. The phone can synchronize with your PC and uploading music or ringtones can be done with simple drag and drop options. Sony Ericsson S500i allows connectivity through EDGE and facilitates email and web browsing.

The one concern with this mobile phone is you need to keep it securely. The fragile handset is prone to cracking in case of fall. Many users have reported the breakage of the keys which is astonishing coming from Sony Ericsson.
