Four Ways to Maintain Youthful Eyes and Prevent Aging

By: tiffanywindhurst | Posted: 17th February 2011

We all know that our eyes is where the first signs of aging shows and we need to take extra care of our eyes if we wanted to stay young, beautiful and vibrant. As we get aged, our eyes start to develop several fine lines and wrinkles that are often seen on the face of women aged 40’s. Here are some of the things that you can do in order to fight the signs of aging and maintain youthful eyes:

1.) Take a lot of anti-oxidants – a diet rich in anti-oxidants will not only help you improve your health but will also help you fight the signs of aging. This will keep your skin hydrated while promoting good blood circulation.

2.) Avoid rubbing your eyes – the eye skin is said to be the thinnest skin on your body, and frequent rubbing of this part can cause permanent damage to your eye tissues. Always try to massage your eyes before going to sleep in order to prevent the development of wrinkles during sleep.

3.) Take a lot of water – as I have said, the eye skin is the thinnest skin on your body, making it prone to dehydration. You need to keep it hydrated by drinking at least 6-8 glasses of water every day. You can also search for eye care products that can add moisture to your eyes, which can help you easily fight the signs of aging.

4.) Never sleep with your makeup on – did you know that for every night that you weren’t able to remove your makeup, your skin grows at least 8 days older? Yes, so you need to be sure that you remove your makeup before going to bed, because this is one of the most common causes of eye skin aging. I always suggest that you wash your face at least twice before going to bed to make sure that your skin is free from makeup and other elements that can accelerate eye skin aging.
