Cabbage is one of the widely known vegetable in the world. This is due to its taste, abundance in various areas in the planet, flexibility and wide variety of application. Cabbage is rich in vitamins and minerals. The purpose of this article is to identify the different vitamins and minerals which can be extracted from cabbage and how they impact our health.

The vitamins found in cabbage are Vitamin A, C, E and U. It is also reach in minerals such as fiber, calcium, potassium, chlorine, iodine, phosphorus, sodium, and sulfur. These vitamins and minerals bring a lot of advantages to the health starting from helping fight off infection to promoting healthy bones.

Cabbage is rich in Vitamin A. This specific vitamin helps in maintaining the health of the gums, glands and eyes. It also helps fight off infection.

Vitamin C which is great in protecting the vascular system of the body and promoting the healing of cuts and wounds is found in Cabbage. Other benefits of this vitamin are preventing gingivitis. You can get this by eating this vegetable either raw or cooked.

Vitamin E is found in Cabbage. Cabbage utilized in facial steaming to thoroughly clean the pores of the skin. It is sometimes injected or applied to the skin.

Two most notable mineral found in cabbages is calcium and fiber. Calcium is found in the leaves of the cabbage. The outer layer leaves are richer in calcium than the inner leaves. This is because the outer leaves are more exposed to the sun. However, the variety of cabbages which has a red color has the most calcium content. By the way, calcium helps in promoting healthy bones. Fiber on the other hand is very good in people who are constipated.
