The Sony Ericsson Naite was released in October 2009, and is now available in an impressive Red colour variant. An affordable handset, this phone offers a good range of features, and its Red colour scheme is sure to win over many new fans.

The Sony Ericsson Naite Red measures 108x47x12.6mm and weighs in at 84 grams, its light weight making it comfortable to hold and use. The 2.2 inch TFT screen utilises pixels set at 240x320 to display up to 256,000 colours for great quality display of on screen content and comes with a range of built in options for wallpapers and screensavers.

As well as vibration, users are alerted to incoming calls and messages via downloadable polyphonic ringtones as well as the ability to set MP3 and AAC music files as ringtones. A composer is included so users can create their own custom ringtones from scratch. A speakerphone is included which allows users to chat hands free.

The phonebook in the Naite Red can store up to 1000 contacts and includes the handy photcall feature. 100 MB of internal memory is provided as standard. The micro SD slot comes with a pre-installed 2 GB memory card for storage of data such as media files, however this can be increased to 8 GB should further storage be required.

The initial means of network connectivity for the Naite Red is via class 10 EDGE and class 10 GPRS. However, in areas with 3G coverage, HSDPA is available at speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps. In order to share files with friends in the same vicinity with a compatible handset, Bluetooth v2.0 is installed. Connection to a computer is made possible thanks to a USB connection (v2.0) so that users can back up their contact info and transfer media files.

A 2 mega pixel camera is installed, which operates at a pixel resolution of 1600x1200 pixels, allowing decent quality still images to be taken. This also has the ability to shoot video as an alternative to still images. This is in QVGA quality at a rate of 15 frames per second.

Most popular formats of media files (both music and video files) are supported by the built in media player, meaning the Naite Red doubles up as an effective portable music player. A selection of pre-installed games and a stereo FM radio player add to the entertainment options. An organiser, voice memo recorder and T9 predictive text input add to the functionality of the handset.

The Sony Ericsson Naite Red is manufactured from eco friendly materials, so is sure to appeal to the environmentally conscious user. As well as the Red colour variant, this affordable handset is also available in Silver, so is an ideal choice for style conscious users.
