It has been a blast seeing Robert Downey Jr. acting again and seeing him one of Hollywood's biggest film screen adaptation of the classic Sherlock Holmes. In a dynamic new portrayal of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous characters, "Sherlock Holmes" sends Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson on their latest challenge. Revealing fighting skills as lethal as his legendary intellect, Holmes will battle as never before to bring down a new nemesis and unravel a deadly plot that could destroy the country.

Director Guy Ritchie vividly captures the scenes of old Victorian Londonand is able to blend this magnificently with the acting prowess of Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law into their interpretation of the classic Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. I really loved how the duo is able to reconcile their differences in this romantic comedy adventure, trying to break up and, through crooked schemes and explosions and near escapes, realize by the end how much they mean to one another after all. The interplay between Holmes and Watson is very full of quips and comedy and full of values of friendship, bravery and camaraderie. The movie is also full action-packed scenes but not karate-type moves, in which the fights scenes are really improvise to replay the old English types of fighting. There are lots of explosions and thrill-seeking adventure and suspense that really kept me guessing and then catch me off guard like "I didn't know nor realizes that."
In addition to Ritchie, Law and Downey, Jr., there also a lot of supporting actors that really pitched in and made the movie a success. My hat's off to Rachel McAdams for playing the sexual love interest of Downey, Jr.'s character, although I'd say the sexual heat and tension is found between the mysteries that surrounds them and that they're trying to solve. Kudos to Andy Garcia's great performance as the villain, Lord Blackwood, which he delivers clearly and with justice. The movie features some gorgeous technical credits, with beautiful photography of a living, breathing 19th Century London. The costumes are all quite nice to look at. And Hans Zimmer turns in his best score in a very long time.
Overall, I'd give Sherlock Holmes a two thumbs up. If you wanna watch a fun, feel good movie that features acting prowess, good action and thrill-seeking mystery, then this movie is to watch for.
