London exhibitions are available in abundance, from art galleries such as the famous Tate Gallery, to independent artwork and fashion exhibitions at the V&A. Whatever your interest, there is an exhibition in the big city to suit anyone.
London's museums update their exhibitions every year. bringing together the best of the art world in various places. This year topics which will be covered range from quilts to urban architecture and icons like Grace Kelly to Leonardo da Vinci.
Horniman Museum is hosting a number of exhibitions this year, including a large temporary one which delves into the origin of mythical creatures such as the cyclops, and looks at links between dinosaurs and dragons. Great for children and adults alike.
The Imperial War Museum is hosting an exhibition looking at the nation's resourceful behaviour during the war. From rationing, frugal cooking, the rise of allotments and creative uses of new ingredients. It also shows how scarce food production was and how people coped.
The Victoria and Albert Museum, or the V&A, is famous for its history of fashion exhibits. It is truly a paradise of corsets, art, old fashions and modern designs. It is showing more than 300 years of British quilting history, covering subjects including consumerism, creativity, fashion, and commemoration. National and regional identity will be analysed in the exhibition of patchwork and quilted covers.
