The Acer neoTouch F1 is a handset that is at the forefront of current mobile phone technology. It offers a wide variety of advanced technology including a Qualcomm Snapdragon USD 8250 1 GHz processor. For its operating system it utilises the ever reliable Microsoft Windows mobile 6.5 professional. The unit is 118 mm x 63 mm wide and is 12 mm thick, whilst weighing 130 g. The display screen within this handset is colourful in every way as well as being large. It is 3.8 inches in size and is a TFT resistive touch screen, which displays 65,000 colours accurately at a pixel screen size of 480 x 800 pixels. Pocket office versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint are included as well as a useful PDF viewer. The phone comes with an internal memory of 256 MB of RAM, with the option to improve and expand on this by utilising the microSD card slot, which offers expansion up to 32 GB.


The phone offers photographic and video capture functionality in the form of a 5.0 mega pixel camera which operates at 2560 x 1920 pixels and comes with auto focus and LED flash as well as geo-tagging. VGA quality video recording and playback are provided as an alternative to still imagery.


The handset offers web browsing capabilities through its HSDPA and Wi Fi connections. Internet access is at a fast 7.2 Mbps as well as the option of connecting to nationally available hotspots. Blue tooth and mini USB are also included within the device and provide the means to share and download files seamlessly. To complete the ensemble the handset also provides GPRS and EDGE.
