Who could have reckoned that a decade ago computers could be able to make free VOIP phone calls? And not only that, they could redefine the communication experience completely. Free VOIP phone calls are possible with VOIP applications. Yes that's right, free calls!. If you have an unlimited Internet access broadband connection you can just enjoy the communication experience.
Let's consider some of the benefits of placing a call using computer:
* Faster connectivity. Calls put through computer get connected in a flash. There is hardly any delay as soon as you click the call or connect button in the VoIP software the call is connected. The person at the other end can answer and you both can start communicating.
* You don't need any special equipment except may be a microphone and a webcam to send your voice to the other party and share the visuals if required. However, if you aim at only talking, webcam can be avoided.
* You can save on your monthly phone bill if you start using VoIP's services.
* You need not be dependent upon your service provider like in a PSTN or mobile setup. If you are availing VoIP's services using an open source or free software all you need is an active Internet access.
* Voice and data both are compressed and sent in VoIP hence it uses less bandwidth
* VoIP set ups are highly flexible and scalable you can use them if you are on the move or eating or watching a movie and whatever you might think of.
The best part is that your PC need not be prepared with the best in class configuration. Making free voip phone calls only needs a PC and a DSL connection.
