A Child ID Provides Valuable Information

Children provide our most revered and precious accomplishments in life and most parents will go to any length to make sure they stay safe. One of the first steps in providing that safety net is to obtain a child ID at a young age.
The best form of child ID will provide the following things:
• Recent head shot
• Current height, weight, color of eyes and hair, and any other distinct birth markings.
• Parental contact information with phone and address, or any other emergency contact information
• Crucial medical information, such as allergies or medications
• Fingerprints for all 10 fingers
Starting when they are just a baby, a child ID is something that can be carried with a parent or guardian as well as the child. A well designed kit will provide the ability to download all this information to a computer, and then store it on a CD ROM. This information can then be provided electronically in the event of any emergency.
Children should be taught safety basics such as stranger danger, fire prevention or traffic basics. They should understand that in the event of any threat, the child should approach a police officer, or an adult that is in a position of authority, such as a teacher. These people can help them to a safe area, and if an ID is available, then parents can be notified sooner.
The same is true if a child gets separated or lost from a parent. A child ID will be extremely handy if a police bulletin has to be given out, making it necessary to provide physical descriptions or photos. The child ID will have all of this information on it, making it very easy to disperse. Law enforcement officials find the child ID to be a critical link for information, providing them with the most up to date descriptions that can be immediately sent to any enforcement agency in the area for an all points bulletin.
The importance of a child ID can be stressed by school administrators as well as other caretakers. Our children cannot be watched all the time by parents, and trust is imposed upon others surrounding them. A child ID will provide some peace of mind and a convenient way of communicating.
