Black Star releasing independent music on a bracelet

Declining record sales and increasing demand for free digitalized music has made it harder for record labels and artists to recoup their efforts. It has also made it a lot easier for amateur and independents to create and spread their music to the masses.

A lot of people are buying into the despair and writing the whole music industry off as a goner. Black Star is a bracelet company that wanted to make a difference to the starving music community by helping artists release music on our bracelets mainstream.

Says featured artist Alex Band, "Ive been blessed with success in my career that artists dream of. Ive had number one hits on the Billboard Charts worldwide; "Where Ever You Will Go" with my band The Calling and "Why don't You and I" with Santana yet its been five years since I put out an album. I had the right people behind me, contacts, fan base and exposure yet the predictable demise in record sales that came after the digitalization of music left me with limited options to put out my music and make a record label a sound investment:"

"When I was approached by Black Star to be the first artist to release a full album on a bracelet I was thrilled. I think Black Star is a revolutionary way to get real music back into stores. I'm relieved that I no longer have to wait for record companies to make things happen for me and that I won't have to compromise my voice or my message to share my music"

Every Black Star bracelet comes with a unique tag designed by vintage tattoo artist Andy Brodsky plus a free song download by a featured independent artist (our debut featured artist is Alex Band). There are nine bracelets to purchase in store and three to collect online. When you collect all 12 you can download a full featured album. Proceeds of every purchase go to our featured artist's favorite charity, organ donor organization Donate Life.

Black Star is dedicated to helping independent artists make waves and inspiring talented music artists everywhere to think outside the labeled box and find innovative ways to get their music out there to the people that need to hear it.
